Gently Kindling Movement

I gently make contact with your curled up fist
A message, through touch,
"I'm here"
I fit my other hand around the angle of your elbow
A message, again,
"I'm here"
The palm of my hand notices your fingertips uncurl
Your palm opening, softening, resting in mine
From here a dance of landscape hands
Gently rolling, curling, changing
Unfurling, like ferns
In this dance we stay
Sometimes seeing, eye to eye
Often pausing.

I notice your leg lengthening, your spine lengthening
Small movements of head, arm, foot
Drifting into movement like the leaves dancing on the wind outside the window
Gently kindling a sense of movement
Together.
